Jakarta, July 26 -- Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian expressed hope that the 2026 President's Cup football tournament would not only entertain the public but also generate positive economic impacts.

"We hope it will have a similar effect to the World Cup by providing entertainment for people across Indonesia. I also believe it will help stimulate economic growth," Tito said in a statement issued in Jakarta on Sunday.

The minister made the remarks while attending the opening ceremony of the 2026 President's Cup at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium in Bandung District, West Java, on Saturday (July 25).
