Jakarta, May 1 -- President Prabowo Subianto said he has instructed his ministers to work with the House of Representatives (DPR) to finalize the Manpower Bill this year.

"I have instructed the Minister of Manpower and the Minister of Law to coordinate with the DPR to complete the Manpower Bill," he said during the International Workers' Day commemoration at the National Monument (Monas) in Jakarta on Friday.

He added that the legislation must prioritize the interests of Indonesian workers.

The president also outlined several measures to improve workers' welfare, including a housing program that is expected to provide homes while creating jobs.
