President Prabowo orders no increase in subsidized fuel prices
Jakarta, Aug. 4 -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has ordered that subsidized fuel prices remain unchanged despite ongoing volatility in global crude oil markets.
Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said the directive was issued during a limited cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday.
"We also discussed global oil price trends, which continue to fluctuate significantly. The president has instructed us to ensure that subsidized fuel prices are not increased," Bahlil told the press after the meeting.
According to him, the government would also consider adjusting non-subsidized fuel prices if the Indonesian Crude Price (ICP) declines on the global market.
