Jakarta, April 20 -- President Prabowo Subianto led a limited meeting at the Presidential Palace on Monday to discuss accelerating the construction of a giant sea wall.
The project is designed to span the northern coast of Java to protect critical areas from tidal flooding and climate change impacts.
Following the meeting, Java Northern Coast Management Authority (BOPPJ) head Didit Herdiawan Ashaf explained that discussions focused on refining development plans.
"We are still in the planning phase and will further look into the technical aspects of the construction," he told the press.
While a specific timeline has not been set, Ashaf emphasized that the president has ordered the project to be fast tracked.
