Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has called for the accelerated implementation of a 100-gigawatt (GW) solar power plant initiative, according to Higher Education, Science, and Technology Minister Brian Yuliarto.

He stated that the president specifically requested that the program's execution be ramped up, particularly as a replacement for diesel-based power plants.

"We were asked to report on the evaluation of several programs, specifically regarding the 100-gigawatt solar power program in coordination with Danantara," Yuliarto said after a meeting with President Prabowo at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday.
