Jakarta, April 27 -- President Prabowo Subianto recognized the workforce by inaugurating Confederation of All Indonesian Workers' Unions (KSPSI) Chairman Mohammad Jumhur Hidayat into the Red and White Cabinet as environment minister, KSPSI President Andi Gani Nena Wea said.

"I already knew that there would be a labor figure entering the cabinet. We view this move as an honor for all labor movements across Indonesia," Wea said in Jakarta on Monday.

He noted that Jumhur had pledged to remain committed to workers' ideals while serving in government.

"Brother Jumhur has assured me that he will never stray from his idealism as a labor leader," he added.
