Jakarta, July 30 -- President Prabowo Subianto said Indonesia must become a cleaner, more beautiful, and better-organized country to boost its appeal as a tourist destination and create more jobs through the tourism sector.

Speaking at the handover ceremony for 62,000 subsidized home mortgages (KPR) in Batang, Central Java, on Thursday, Prabowo said environmental cleanliness and aesthetics are among the key factors influencing tourists' decisions to visit a destination.

He urged regional governments across the country to prioritize maintaining clean and attractive public spaces.
