Jakarta, Sept. 2 -- President Prabowo Subianto will attend the 11th Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Russia, as a guest of honor at President Vladimir Putin's invitation, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said.

"President Putin specifically invited President Prabowo as the EEF's main guest of honor, reflecting close Indonesia-Russia ties strengthened through direct diplomacy," Teddy said here Tuesday night.

Prabowo's participation marks his second appearance at a Russian economic forum as a specially invited guest of honor, following last year's St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

"This is the second time President Prabowo has been invited as a guest of honor at Russia's international economic forums," Teddy said.
