Jakarta, Aug. 4 -- President Prabowo Subianto has urged companies holding special mining permits (IUPK) to adhere to Indonesia's natural resource downstreaming policy aimed at generating greater added value, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said.

"Mr. President's directive is for them to carry out downstreaming efforts in accordance with applicable rules," he told the press at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Bahlil made the statement after joining Prabowo in a limited meeting with Danantara Chief Operating Officer Dony Oskaria and Development Control and Special Investigation Agency (Bappisus) Chief Aris Marsudiyanto.
