Jakarta, Sept. 27 -- President Prabowo Subianto praised weightlifter Rahmat Erwin Abdullah after he won Indonesia's second gold medal at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games with a world-record total of 366 kilograms.

"Indonesia has once again received joyful news from one of its own. Indonesian weightlifter Rahmat Erwin Abdullah successfully won a gold medal while breaking world and ASEAN records at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games," he wrote on Instagram, as cited in Jakarta on Sunday.

Prabowo said he had personally congratulated Rahmat during a video call, expressing appreciation for the athlete's efforts and hard work.
