Jakarta, Aug. 6 -- President Prabowo Subianto on Thursday announced plans to increase investment in education, stating that the nation's future innovation and breakthroughs depend on its educational quality system.

Speaking before around 150 scientists from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), the president outlined several government initiatives launched for the education sector, including improving school infrastructure and establishing excellent schools in several regions nationwide.

"To achieve innovation, breakthroughs, discoveries, patents, and other advancements, the foundation is education," the president said during a meeting with 150 BRIN scientists at the Presidential Palace, here on Thursday.
