Jakarta, Oct. 5 -- President Prabowo Subianto conveyed Indonesia's full support for the advancement of national football through international competitions during a meeting with FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Youth and Sports Minister Erick Thohir.

According to a Cabinet Secretariat statement quoted here on Monday, President Prabowo received Infantino and Thohir at Merdeka Palace earlier that day.

"President Prabowo welcomed the appreciation while affirming the Indonesian government's full support for the advancement of national football, including through hosting international competitions and strengthening the football ecosystem in the country," the statement read.
