Jakarta, July 20 -- President Prabowo Subianto ordered the completion of 5,000 village bridges by the end of 2026, as a push for Indonesia's rural infrastructure development.

"By July 2026, of the 5,000 village bridges that the villagers have been desperately requesting, we have completed 1,000," President Prabowo said during a press conference following the Plenary Cabinet Meeting at the State Palace here on Monday.

With construction already underway, the President directly challenged the Bridge Repair Acceleration Task Force-led by Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Maruli Simanjuntak-to expedite and complete the project soon.
