Jakarta, July 10 -- President Prabowo Subianto on Friday inaugurated five dams across Indonesia, highlighting the projects as key investments to strengthen food security, water supplies, flood control and renewable energy development.

Speaking at the Meninting Dam in West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, Prabowo inaugurated the Meninting, Rukoh, Keureuto, Jlantah and Sidan dams.

The projects underscore the government's push to expand water infrastructure supporting agriculture, raw water supplies, disaster mitigation and sustainable development.

President Prabowo thanked Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono and the Public Works Ministry for overseeing years of dam construction.
