Prabowo inspects West Kalimantan fires, orders coordinated response
Jakarta, Aug. 22 -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto inspected forest and land fires in Limbung Village, Kubu Raya, West Kalimantan, on Saturday, assessing the disaster firsthand and urging a rapid, coordinated response.
In a live broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel, Prabowo walked through a smoke-shrouded area and inspected sites where fires had been extinguished.Firefighters continued battling remaining flames nearby.
Prabowo was accompanied by State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
