Jakarta, March 4 -- Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono revealed that President Prabowo Subianto had held direct telephone conversations with a number of leaders of Gulf countries following the United States and Israel's strikes on Iran.

In a recorded statement received here on Wednesday, Sugiono said that nearly all crucial phone calls had been carried out by the President amid the escalating armed conflict between Iran and Israel.

"Yes, the calls (to Gulf countries) have been made. (All of them) have been contacted," Sugiono remarked when asked which countries had been reached by the President.
