Jakarta, July 2 -- President Prabowo Subianto hosted Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko at the Merdeka Palace on Thursday for high-level talks aimed at expanding strategic bilateral cooperation.

Lukashenko arrived at the palace courtyard at approximately 11:23 a.m. local time, his motorcade escorted by a ceremonial 17-motorcycle guard and an 80-member cavalry unit from Indonesia's Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres).

Upon arrival, the Belarusian leader was honored with the traditional Enggang dance from East Kalimantan before Prabowo personally welcomed him at his vehicle.

The two heads of state stood for the national anthems of Indonesia and Belarus before Prabowo invited his guest to inspect the guard of honor.
