Jakarta, Aug. 27 -- Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto assured residents affected by the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara that the government would continue monitoring conditions and sending aid as the death toll reached 103.

"The central government continues to monitor the situation and take steps to send aid and prepare everything needed to address these difficulties," Prabowo said while checking on earthquake survivors in Nagekeo District, East Nusa Tenggara, on Wednesday.

Prabowo said the government had prepared temporary measures to reopen schools as soon as possible, with classes expected to be held in tents until damaged buildings are deemed safe.
