Prabowo asks Babinsa officers to educate villagers on wildfire risks
Jakarta, Aug. 30 -- President Prabowo Subianto has asked Indonesian Defense Forces' (TNI's) village development non-commissioned (Babinsa) officers to educate residents about the dangers of forest and land fires, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said.
Teddy said Prabowo raised the issue during a meeting with the military commander and service chiefs, defense and higher education ministers, and the state secretary in Hambalang, West Java, on Saturday (29/8).
"The president wants Babinsa officers to educate villagers about the dangers of forest fires and encourage them to work together to protect our forests and land," Teddy said.
