Serang, Banten, March 25 -- The Banten Police have foiled multiple drug and firearm smuggling attempts at Merak Port, Banten, throughout the Eid al-Fitr homecoming period, seizing a total of 67 kg of methamphetamine.
"The operations were conducted to ensure public security and order during the Eid al-Fitr homecoming period," Banten Police Chief Inspector General Hengki stated here on Wednesday.
The first two smuggling attempts were foiled on March 8 and 12, when a total of 15 kg of meth and a firearm were seized from two different perpetrators arriving by foot at the executive terminal of the port, which connects Java and Sumatra.
