Jakarta, May 11 -- Indonesia said the Philippines will be linked to the Trans Borneo Power Grid, expanding cross-border electricity transmission in Southeast Asia to improve efficiency and reliability, Energy Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said on Monday.
"We have built a network between Malaysia and Indonesia and it will soon connect to the Philippines," he said.
Indonesia is building interconnection with Malaysia, including imports of hydropower for Kalimantan under bilateral cooperation.
He said the scheme would help deliver more equitable, reliable and affordable electricity, including to remote areas.
Separately, Lahadalia said Singapore plans to import clean electricity from Indonesia.
