Indonesia, Aug. 19 -- The Papua Special Autonomy Development Acceleration Steering Agency (BP3OKP) is strengthening oversight of special autonomy funds across eight districts to ensure spending complies with regulations, an official said.

Speaking in Wamena on Wednesday, BP3OKP Highlands member Gaad P. Tabuni said the agency, operating under Indonesia's vice president, works with provincial and district governments to monitor special autonomy fund allocations.

"We have so far conducted outreach and coordination on special autonomy fund oversight in two districts, Lanny Jaya and Jayawijaya. The other six await further activities," he said.
