Papua focuses on rice sufficiency to lift farmers' welfare
Jayapura, Papua, April 6 -- The Provincial Government of Papua, through its Food Crops, Horticulture, and Food Office, continues to push rice self-sufficiency programs to boost the Farmer Terms of Trade (FTT) and the overall welfare of farmers.
Head of the Papua Food Crops, Horticulture, and Food Office, Lunanka V.M.L. Daimboa, stated here on Sunday that efforts to improve the FTT are being carried out through various programs, primarily by expanding rice planting areas and increasing agricultural production.
"The government's rice field creation program not only focuses on clearing new land but is also accompanied by other initiatives, such as land optimization and the development of upland rice to support production growth," she said....
