Jakarta, June 1 -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Monday said Pancasila must serve as the guiding principle for Indonesia's national development, including economic policy, during the 2026 Pancasila Day commemoration in Jakarta.

Speaking at the Pancasila Building of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Prabowo said the state ideology was born from the shared experiences, culture, and aspirations of Indonesians to live as one nation.

He stressed that Indonesia's economy must be based on Pancasila, prioritizing the people's interests and ensuring that national wealth is used to improve public welfare.
