Jakarta, July 23 -- The government intends the Ocean Institute of Indonesia (OII) to spearhead efforts in nurturing talent and innovation, supporting the country's vision as a global maritime fulcrum, Higher Education, Science, and Technology Minister Brian Yuliarto said.

He commended the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries for establishing the OII, launched on July 21, describing the move as a crucial step to boost vocational education in marine and fisheries while expanding collaboration among universities and stakeholders across relevant sectors.
