Jakarta, Aug. 27 -- The National Agency for Disaster Countermeasures (BNPB) has deployed teams to seven affected districts in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, to accelerate the rehabilitation and reconstruction of houses damaged by the magnitude-7.7 earthquake.

Acting Head of the agency's Center for Data, Information, and Disaster Communication Berton SP Panjaitan said in Jakarta on Thursday that assistance in preparing assessments and standardizing house damage assessments would continue without waiting for the emergency response period to end.

"The agency is committed to accelerating the rehabilitation and reconstruction of houses damaged by the earthquake that struck on August 15, 2026," he said.
