Medan, Aug. 18 -- The North Sumatra Regional Police has distributed 25 tons of food aid to people affected by the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province.

Senior Commissioner Ferry Walintukan, Head of Public Relations for the North Sumatra Police, stated that the aid included rice, sugar, instant noodles, and cooking oil.

"This aid represents our concern for the community facing this disaster and reflects the humanitarian spirit that must be upheld," he said in Medan on Tuesday.

Together with Bhayangkari and other contributing parties, he said, the police provided assistance aimed at easing the burden on affected residents.
