Indonesia, Sept. 23 -- Divers joint team from Basarnas Special Group (BSG) and Indonesian Navy was able to locate and recover nine bodies on Wednesday as victims from Virgo Transport 8 ship accident in the Java Sea.

Head of National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), Mohammad Syafii, said the nine bodies were recovered from the wreckage of the vessel on the 11th day of the search and rescue (SAR) operation.

"Despite challenging underwater currents and visibility conditions, the joint team of divers persisted in searching the ship's interior until they successfully located the victims," Syafii said in Banjarmasin.
