Jakarta, Sept. 14 -- Indonesia's new Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara has urged capital market players not to worry about the change in finance minister, saying his appointment would not represent a major shift in the Finance Ministry's policy direction.

Nazara, who previously served as deputy finance minister, said his appointment by President Prabowo Subianto represented a continuation of policies and programs already underway at the Finance Ministry.

"In my view, this is not a change, but simply a continuation," he told reporters after his inauguration at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday.

"I have been part of the Finance Ministry all this time, so we will continue working," he said.
