Bandung, West Java, March 12 -- Deputy Minister of Law Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej emphasized that the new Criminal Code (KUHP) and the reform of the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP) represent a more humane and modern criminal justice system.

Speaking at an event titled "Dissemination of the New KUHP and KUHAP: Implications and Implementation for Legal Professions" here on Thursday, Hiariej described the reform as a historic milestone for national legal reform.
