Jakarta, May 21 -- Deputy Speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Lestari Moerdijat called on all parties to strengthen their commitment to fulfilling the rights of people with disabilities.

In a statement issued in Jakarta on Thursday, she emphasized that protecting and fulfilling the rights of marginalized groups is mandated by the 1945 Constitution.

"The fulfillment of the rights of people with disabilities in all aspects of social life must be carried out with full commitment, as it is mandated by both the law and the Constitution," she stated.
