Jakarta, April 15 -- Speaker of Indonesia's People's Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) Ahmad Muzani emphasized that Indonesia is not taking sides in the conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran.

"As a country that adheres to an independent and active policy, Indonesia cannot possibly take sides in a situation like this," Muzani stated during a meeting with Islamic boarding school leaders and Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Indonesia Faisal Abdullah Al Amoudi in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Muzani said that amid the conflict, it is Indonesia's obligation-with its independent and active policy-to continuously seek peaceful solutions, so diplomacy becomes the way to resolve all differences.
