Jakarta, Sept. 2 -- Deputy Speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono, popularly known as Ibas, said the Climate Change Bill must address six key issues, ranging from targets to financing.

"A good law is not one with the most provisions. A good law is one whose benefits are most clearly felt by the people," Ibas said in a statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday.

According to Ibas, the bill must not stop at being a normative regulation but should serve as a legal instrument that provides tangible protection for the public while ensuring sustainable development.

He said the first issue that needed to be regulated was clear, measurable, implementable, and regularly evaluated climate change targets.
