Malang, East Java, Aug. 19 -- The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) Office confirmed the reopening of tourism activities in the Mount Bromo area, East Java, on Thursday (August 20), following the handling of the recent forest and land fires.

According to the Head of the TNBTS Office, Rudijanta Tjahja Nugraha, the reopening of tourist access to Bromo was based on monitoring and evaluation of the area's post-fire conditions.

"Considering the safety of visitors and staff, the Bromo area will reopen for tourism on Thursday," he confirmed in a statement on Wednesday.
