Jakarta, May 26 -- The Ministry of Environment stated that it is strengthening the greenhouse gas emission Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) system in the regions of Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua.

Deputy for Climate Change Control and Carbon Economic Value Governance at the ministry Ary Sudijanto said in a statement confirmed here on Tuesday that strengthening the MRV system is essential to ensuring the quality of measuring, monitoring, and verifying emission reduction actions in Indonesia.

"The MRV process is the backbone of our climate action credibility. We must ensure that data from the grassroots to the national level has the same integrity so that it can be held accountable internationally," Sudijanto stated.
