Jakarta, March 8 -- Indonesia's deputy tourism minister inspected safety and security conditions at several major tourist destinations in Bali ahead of the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday, as authorities prepare for a surge in domestic travel during one of the country's busiest tourism periods.

Deputy Tourism Minister Ni Luh Puspa said the inspection aimed to ensure destinations were ready to handle rising visitor numbers while maintaining safety and comfort for tourists.

"Besides monitoring the current situation, we are also ensuring the readiness of destinations ahead of the Eid holiday, particularly in terms of tourist safety and security. During this period, we expect a surge in tourist visits," Puspa said in a statement on Saturday.
