Jakarta, June 29 -- The Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions, in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization, launched a workshop to improve sustainable agricultural and food governance and strengthen Indonesia's food security.

The workshop equipped senior officials of the ministry with the skills and methodologies to develop and implement evidence-based policies and interventions to transform Indonesia's food and agricultural systems.

"We hope this workshop can serve as a platform for us to share international experience and global knowledge facilitated by FAO," the Ministry's Director General of Empowerment and Development of Disadvantaged Regions, Samsul Widodo, said here on Monday.
