Jakarta, March 29 -- Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak ensured that Hajj preparations have been continuing smoothly amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East region.

"Alhamdulillah, as of today there are no obstacles in the preparations, both from the Indonesian side and the Saudi Arabian authorities. Insya Allah, the first departure of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims will begin on April 22, 2026," he said in a statement here on Sunday.

At the start of his visit to Saudi Arabia, his side carried out various direct checks on the operational readiness of the Hajj as well as coordination with Saudi authorities.
