Jakarta, Aug. 16 -- Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo said access and basic needs following the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) were being addressed quickly.

He reported on response efforts carried out by the Public Works Ministry through its technical implementation units (UPT) in NTT.

"We have checked conditions in the field. Some points have started to be handled, but there is still work to be done. There is one bridge that still needs to be handled, and we are racing to get it handled soon," Hanggodo said here on Sunday.

Several affected roads and bridges have been inspected, while efforts to address areas where access remains disrupted continue to be coordinated so public access can return to normal soon, he added.
