Jakarta, March 16 -- The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs disbursed Rp100.9 billion (US$6 million) in disaster relief funds to support the recovery of East Aceh District residents affected by major floods and landslides across Sumatra last November.
Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf distributed the assistance alongside Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian at the District Head's Office in East Aceh, Aceh Province, on Monday.
"We hope this aid will be truly helpful for household recovery, both in terms of home infrastructure and family economies," Yusuf told the press after the handover ceremony.
