Jakarta, March 12 -- The Health Ministry and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) have strengthened their cooperation to eradicate corruption in the health sector, marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Wednesday.

Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin noted in a statement on Thursday that the health sector is highly complex, particularly regarding financing and service management. To this end, strengthening governance is a vital component of Indonesia's ongoing health transformation.

Under this agreement, the two institutions will bolster coordination, data exchange, and joint initiatives to prevent and combat corruption, aiming to improve transparency and accountability in health programs.
