Ministries urged to fast-track funding for Sumatra rehabilitation
Jakarta, June 7 -- Indonesia's disaster recovery task force urged ministries and agencies to speed up budget allocation and disbursement to accelerate post-disaster rehabilitation in three provinces hit by floods and landslides.
Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, who chairs the task force, said streamlined budgeting was essential for faster recovery in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra.
In a statement on Sunday, Karnavian said the government and parliament had approved a recovery master plan targeting completion by 2028.
The plan outlines 11,512 programs requiring Rp100.166 trillion, equivalent to more than US$5.5 billion, in funding.
