Jakarta, Oct. 15 -- Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Correctional Affairs Yusril Ihza Mahendra has called for stronger regulations and institutional frameworks for zakat (Islamic almsgiving) management to support poverty alleviation and boost public welfare.

According to a statement confirmed on Thursday, he noted that zakat management in Indonesia has a solid legal foundation and is part of the ongoing dynamic between religion and the state within the country's constitutional system.
