Jakarta, May 23 -- Indonesian Higher Education, Science, and Technology Minister Brian Yuliarto urged state universities to improve research quality to support the country's development agenda.

In a statement issued in Jakarta on Saturday, he emphasized that universities play a strategic role in strengthening Indonesia's position amid global competition through the advancement of science and technology ecosystems.

"Transforming knowledge into impactful products is a long-term process. Universities must build strategic partnerships with industries to generate meaningful innovations. Countries that can sustain research through to industrial commercialization are the ones that will shape the future economy," he said.
