Jakarta, July 23 -- Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid has urged mobile operators to ensure that biometric SIM card registration is accessible and inclusive, preventing the mandate from becoming a burden on the public.

"We are counting on operators to ensure that the policy is implemented while keeping it simple and inclusive to everyone. The goal is to protect mobile network users, not complicate their lives," she said in Jakarta on Thursday.

Meutya stressed that the technology and systems used for biometric verification must accommodate everyone, including persons with disabilities.
