Jakarta, May 11 -- Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan assesses that the waste sorting initiative by the Jakarta Government can serve as a national model in addressing household waste issues by separating organic, inorganic, and toxic waste.
"We appreciate the Governor's initiative because it can be an inspiration and model for regions across the country," Hasan said in Jakarta on Sunday, while attending the Waste Sorting Movement event, which also marked the launch of Jakarta's 499th anniversary.
He hoped the initiative will reduce the amount of waste to be disposed of, as it can be utilized before disposal. "The most challenging is household waste. Sorting, sorting," he said.
