Minister says terrorism under control, urges continued vigilance
Jakarta, July 27 -- Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs retired Gen. Djamari Chaniago said on Monday that the country's terrorism threat is currently under control but stressed that all stakeholders must remain vigilant against evolving security risks.
"Terrorism in Indonesia is relatively under control today. This is reflected in the country's success in maintaining a declining trend in terrorist incidents over the past several years," Djamari said in Jakarta.
He noted that the Global Terrorism Index 2026 classifies Indonesia as a country with a medium impact from terrorism, while the Global Peace Index 2026 places the country at a medium level of peacefulness.
