Jakarta, Aug. 1 -- Indonesia's Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa reaffirmed the government's commitment to funding human resource development programs, including the Sekolah Rakyat (People's Schools) initiative, through state budget allocations.

The minister made the statement during an inspection of the Sekolah Rakyat Integrated School 2 in Surabaya, East Java, on Saturday.

"One of the Finance Ministry's main responsibilities is ensuring budget availability so the program can operate effectively," Purbaya said in a written statement.

He said Sekolah Rakyat is among President Prabowo Subianto's priority programs to expand access to quality education for Indonesian children.
