Minister orders online learning for schools impacted by Krakatau ash
Jakarta, Sept. 6 -- Primary and Secondary Education Minister Abdul Mu'ti has ordered schools heavily affected by Mount Anak Krakatau's eruption to shift classes online, prioritizing student and teacher safety.
Speaking to journalists here Sunday, Mu'ti said affected schools could conduct lessons from home online or move classes to other safe locations equipped for distance learning.
He identified areas with heavy ash exposure, including Serang District in Banten and Tanggamus District, Bandar Lampung and South Lampung in Lampung.
For areas where in-person classes remain safe, Mu'ti instructed schools to strictly enforce health and safety protocols.
