Jakarta, May 21 -- The Ministry of Transportation is still awaiting the results of the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) investigation into the cause of the train accident in East Bekasi, West Java, on April 27, 2026.

"Regarding the incident in East Bekasi, we are awaiting the results of the National Transportation Safety Committee's investigation," Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi said during a Working Meeting of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) in Jakarta on Thursday.

He considered that discussions regarding the East Bekasi incident should not focus solely on one incident, but should serve as an opportunity to examine railway safety issues more comprehensively.
